Meet Shannon Sorensen
Hi, I’m Shannon — a happily married mother of three and a Long Island based photographer with five years behind the camera. I’m a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology and the School of Visual Arts, and I bring that editorial, artistic eye to every session. But at heart, I just love capturing real moments: laughs, hugs, and everyday fun. No stiff poses — just your family being yourselves, at home or outside. Simple, natural, and full of love.

Session Questions, Answered
How far in advance should I book my newborn session?
As soon as you know your due date, ideally. Newborn sessions are scheduled around your baby’s birth and photographed within the first five to fourteen days, so your due-date month tends to book up quickly — reserving early guarantees your spot.
What should we wear to our session?
Soft, neutral tones and simple textures photograph best — think cream, blush, sage, and warm neutrals rather than busy patterns or logos. You’ll receive a full style guide after booking to help coordinate the whole family.
Do you travel outside of Nassau County?
Yes. Shannon regularly photographs families throughout Long Island and the greater NYC area. A small travel fee may apply outside of Nassau County — just ask when you inquire.
How long until we receive our photos?
You’ll receive a handful of sneak peeks within 48 hours of your session, with your full, hand-retouched gallery delivered in two to three weeks.
What's included in a session?
Every session includes a private online gallery, a print release for personal use, and Shannon’s full editing artistry. Fine art prints and albums are available as an add-on for anyone who wants their images off a screen and on a wall.
How do I reserve my date?
A signed agreement and retainer hold your date on the calendar, with the remaining balance due before your session. Reach out through the contact section below and Shannon will personally walk you through availability.
